Since Max Sisley first opened a Chrysler dealership in 1946, the Sisley family has been one of Toronto’s major vehicle retailers. Max’s son, Don Sisley, took over the business in 1958. Due to his prophetic vision and sincere understanding of the automotive industry, he transformed it into a Honda dealership in favour of their compact vehicles. Hugh Sisley, Don’s son, is the third generation owner and oversees both Sisley for Honda and Sisley for Hyundai, having become President of Sisley Motors Limited in 1993. Like his father, Hugh has served as President of the Toronto Automobile Dealers Association (TADA) and has sat on the board of the Canadian Automobile Dealers Association. Under Hugh’s direction, TADA worked with the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council to strengthen the industry’s advertising code so that automotive advertising must be clearer for the customer.

Today, Hugh upholds the three standards that his father and grandfather worked so hard to set:

1. To offer superior product at competitive prices
2. To market through community work and advertising
3. To employ stable and customer-oriented staff

By adhering to these principles, Hugh has made Sisley for Honda one of largest Honda retailers in Canada with approximately 150 skilled employees and over 10,000 customers. He does not consider this to be the pinnacle of his success, however, but a jumping point from which to grow and prosper. Hugh purchased a Hyundai dealership in 2007 which aims to provide the same great customer service unique to Sisley but for a whole new range of products.

In fact, Hugh uses technology to his advantage. All 35 service bays are computerized, customer lounge areas boast free wireless internet and computer workstations. With the entire sales department located on the showroom floor, customers can witness the entire sales process as well as monitor any service being done to their vehicle through the full windows that look out to the service centre.
